Alive by Frio

Tomorrow never comes
The day will end today
You come to change the truth
Forget it anyway

I"ll never be a man
So take it as i am

Make me alive
Make me suffer
Make me feel

Make me alive
Make me suffer
Make me feel

Just leave me in the rain
My life is in the drain
I"ll seek your love forever
I beg not a different game

I"ll never be a man
Embrace me as i am

Make me alive
Make me suffer
Make me feel

Make me alive
Make me suffer
Make me feel

Alive...
Alive...

The local music scene is hot nowadays because of the resurgence of talented bands. Now, it will sizzle even more as young band Frio joins the highly competitive music scene.

The music of Frio can be classified under pop-alternative genre and is unmonochromatic with a variety of melodies and arrangements somehow united in conveying messages of love, truth, hope, desperation and at some point humor. The band showcases three main vocal talents in which these three voices blended at several points in the album, bring about a new and radical experience in Filipino music with which Frio uniquely provides.

Frio is composed of 8 members namely Alain Echem (vocals), Christopher Sison (vocals), Sheila Taup (vocals), Archie Urn (lead guitar), Christian Quiambao (rhythm guitar), Tristan Climaco (keyboards), Raz Itum (bass) and Marvin Salazar (drums). They have just released their self-titled debut album under Alpha Music.

All of the ten songs in the album blend well with today's hit songs beginning with the carrier single "Alive." A love ditty, the song is about the cry of a man who seeks to be loved and embraced for what he is. It is now gaining significant airplays from top FM stations in Manila and nearby provinces.

Frio started as a small campus band in Zamboanga City. Formed through high school friendship, the band initially played at school events and special functions. Soon after, the band started to play at small bars and was eventually noted by a local radio station and was requested to play at campus tours in several schools in Zamboanga City. They also joined and won several band competitions including a city band championship for the year 2004 and a runner-up for the SMB Jinggaling Contest Regional Finals. From then on, Frio was offered regular gigs from local entertainment bars and became known in the city's music scenery which led it to play as front act for popular artists. Frio took their music to a higher lever by making original compositions six of which were initially recorded at Cagayan de Oro City. Now, the band with the help and support of family and friends, ventured on to Manila to become a part of the local music scene.

Having eight members in the band is not a problem to this talent-laden group. Frio finds it more of an advantage, not to mention having three main vocalists each of which has his/her own forte. The group believes that it is not the number of the members that really matters. It's the contribution and definition of each member's role to convert dreams into achievements and success that matter most.

Listen and be enthralled with the music of Frio as they sing songs from the album (now available in CD format) such as "Nasan Ka Na," "E," "Himig," "Breathe," "Parapa," "Baby," "Could Have Been," "Let Him Go" and "Why."
